New Hudsonville Meijer to offer new shopping experiences

JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The new Meijer location in Hudsonville opens its doors Thursday.

The new 155,000 square-foot Meijer supercenter, located at 4075 32nd Avenue near I-196 in Hudsonville, will open at 7 a.m. Thursday.

The store, which is open 24 hours a day, will provide multiple ways to shop. It will offer the new shop-and-scan technology and the Meijer home delivery service. The pharmacy will feature a drive-thru pick up and the company’s free prescription program.

Meijer also announced that it’s reintroducing baggers to help cut down on checkout times during peak hours.

On Sunday, the new store will feature many events as part of its grand opening celebration. The first 200 customers to enter after 7 a.m. Sunday will receive a gift card with a value of $5, $,10 or $20.

SPECTRUM TO OPEN FIRST RETAIL-BASED WALK-IN CLINIC

Spectrum Health will open its first retail-based walk-in clinic in the new Meijer location. It will take its first patient at 7 a.m. Thursday.

The clinic will see people who need non-emergent care, such as allergies, bumps and bruises, or cold and flu symptoms. Services do not include emergency care, x-rays, treatment for broken bones or stitches.

Services are available to any patient, whether that person is affiliated with Spectrum Health or not. Primary care providers of the walk-in clinic patient will receive a summary of the visit after it is complete.

24 Hour News 8 spoke with a Spectrum Health doctor about the new walk-in clinic, who said it’s a way to make lives easier for busy people.

“We anticipate this to be a really efficient, quick visit for patients,” said Spectrum Health Dr. Joel Lopez. “Coming in and really kind of checking items off your to-do list. Whether that be shopping at Meijer or doing any illness visits, school and camp physicals.”

There will be a physician and two nurse practitioners at the clinic. The clinic accepts insurance, but will also take patients without insurance for a charge of $69 per visit.

“We really are excited to be in this Hudsonville community where I think the community is great to begin with and we’re excited to care for them,” said Lopez.

Clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 pm. Also, the clinic will be open all holidays besides Christmas from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
