And Dame Joan Collins, 85, made sure she put on a typically chic display as she arrived at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The screen legend looked elegant in monochrome for her strut through arrivals with her husband of 16 years Percy Gibson, 53.

The style savvy star added a pop of colour with her signature red lipstick and added a pair of dark shades.

Percy meanwhile was suave in a crisp blue and white shirt and black blazer as he flashed a big smile at waiting photographers. 

Dame Joan and Percy were married during an intimate wedding at Claridge’s Hotel, Mayfair, in February 2002.

The star revealed her top tip for ‘lasting marriage’ to Hello! after tying the knot sixteen years ago with husband Percy, saying it works because they ‘really support each other’.

She explained that in a lasting marriage, the key is to ‘understand that there will be highs and lows’.

She said: ‘You won’t always agree about everything, but you need to enjoy each other’s company. Percy is such an amazing man, he is so kind and so caring.

‘People get married on the crest of lust. Once that’s gone, they look and think: ‘What the hell? Who is this person?’

‘There has to be something else to fall back on. If there isn’t, they start looking.’
