The Tricity India Association’s 18th annual Spring Festival will fill the Empire State Plaza convention center with music, dancers in jewel-toned clothing, delicious foods and vendors selling clothing, jewelry, arts and crafts. In its 40 years of existence, the nonprofit Tricity India Association has hosted regular events ranging from ping pong and tennis tournaments to International Women’s Day celebrations.
The Spring Festival is a favorite thanks to its beautifully choreographed dances and food from India’s diverse regions. Guests can enjoy dishes such as rich creamy Punjabi stews or spicy Kerala cuisine perfumed with cardamom, clove, ginger, coconut, turmeric, tamarind and cinnamon.
The event runs 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 10. Tickets are $3 for Tricity members, $5 for non-members. Children under 12 are free.
